“I WANT ALL OF YOU TO BE THE FIRST TO KNOW I am part of a new pilot for FX called ‘Powers,’ “ Israeli actress Alona Tal wrote on her official twitter account last week. The Israeli actress made her way to American prime time TV a few years ago, when she was a regular on season 5 of the CW hit show ‘Supernatural,’ and since then she’s been a guest star on FOX’s ‘Lie to Me,’ CBS’ ‘The Defenders,’ and recently played Simone, Aria’s former babysitter, in ABC Family’s ‘Pretty Little Liars.’
The new series, ‘Powers,’ which is currently being filmed in Chicago, is based on a previous Comics series with the same name, and was created by Brian Michael Bendis, who also created the ‘Spider-Man’ animated series in 2003. Bendis confirmed that Tal will play the role of Zora, an immortal figure with supernatural memory abilities. The main character in ‘Powers’, Dina Pilgrim, is a homicide investigator who is responsible alongside private eye Christian Walker (played by Patrick Jason) for cases that involve supernatural people.
This show is one of 83 (!) pilots that have been produced for television this year. Of course very few of them actually make the cut and get to be on air, but let’s hope that this Bendis person knows what he’s doing, so we’ll get to see Alona back on our TV sets.
